Youth Council
The Objectives of the Lithgow Youth council
are:
- To raise the profile of youth in Lithgow
- To be a voice to community leaders
- To help the Council to solve problems and accomplish the goals
of this community by working directly with youth representatives,
and
- To serve the youth of the Lithgow local government area (LGA).
The Youth Council plays a varied role in our community, representing
the local youth in the area to the Chamber of Commerce, Schools and
service clubs as well as providing regular reports to Council.
Achievements So Far
Some of the proud achievements by the Youth Council
include:
- Planning, development and installation of the Lithgow skatepark.
- Assisted in the organisation of Lithgow's Little Day Out and
other youth culture events.
- Helped in developing the application for successful indent
funding for four youth musical events.
- Fund raised money for Cooinda as part of Celebrate Lithgow.
